Introduction
This college was formerly the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and was established on August 1st, 2009, replacing the former College of Humanities and Management as part of a long-term restructuring program. The goal of the establishment of the College was to raise awareness of the humanities, strengthen teaching and curriculum in the humanities and social sciences.
On August 1st, 2013, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences was formally amalgamated with the College of Health and Information, forming the College of Humanities and Applied Information. At present, the College is comprised of the Graduate Institute of Confucianism, the Department of Social Work, the Department of Cultural Activities Development, and the Department of Applied Foreign Languages (all of which formerly belonged to the College of Humanities and Social Sciences), and the Department of Information Management and the Department of Applied Informatics and Multimedia (which formerly belonged to the College of Health and Information).
The Department of Social Work, the Department of Applied Foreign Language, the Department of Cultural Activities Management, the Department of Information Management, and the Department of Applied Informatics and Multimedia all run four year degree programs, with both day and evening divisions.
